Poem – Burdened

I tried to tell them.
I tried to love them,
One day, time will come to an end,
but they didn’t want to listen.
Closing their ears.
Eyes gone blind.
Hardened hearts.
Did I push them away
with something I said?
Does it seem easier believe a lie
than that which is true?
All that I said is
God loves you.

Oh God, it hurts so bad.
They drown me out
all the day long.I taught them to touch
and to feel, how to hold onto
what is real.
Be faithful and just
to that which is true.
Though hearing me not
like nothing was said,
turning their backs
with no time spent,
they are unfinished garments
torn away from the loom.
It is only by faith, Lord Jesus,
that the weave will be finished
by You.
