Poem – Shadow Moon

Shadows across the moon,
shallows across my heart.
Love’s been blotted halfway out
as darkness looms
to cover the solution,
but what would happen
if “moon” went off on its own?
Would not our emotional tides
go unrepaired in lunacy?

Why then do we not await
for the fullness of the Son
to direct our paths?
Inside his promise of order,
are we alive throughout
reflected seasons in our lives?
Or are we greater in our pride
to disrupt all balance in our stride?

Doth the sky do a dance
before our eyes?
Is there a message we should see
perhaps beyond our great divide
wherein lay eternal rest
if we don’t hide?
