Poem – Where do Dragons Live?

Where do dragons live?
In places of pain
where God’s love has been shrugged.
All in dark places within mind.

They are vicious in strongholds deep,
keeping all locked away from self
much too strong to be gotten out.

Except by sword of truth
where light in darkness unveils.

So, cry out and touch with pain.
Yet in other seasons it seemed better…
Choices! We know we’re to blame.

Inviting them in,
through deceptive lying eyes.
Knowing they’re there
we no longer hide.

Every moment we are distracted
from full reality,
therein lies pain.

For a life not lived with understanding
misses heaven and meets devil’s rage.
