The Me Nobody Held

Missing in action
in motions of life.
Looking for safety
while not understood.
All is confusion.

In a free for all
freefall. Spinning,
not knowing the way.
Inside, outside,
upslide down.

Just needed to be held,
but there was no one,
no one to trust.
Yet I didn’t even know
’til God met me
in the arms of my grandson,
and then I knew
to be held, while . . .

Singing the psalms,
I held him and he held me.
In a deep and powerful
embrace, we were
healed
from a part
of me missing.
