I can see them pressing against
the many fibers of the veil.
It is dark where they are moving,
each one tries to break through.
Some press their faces as they cameo glisten,
others scratch and claw, punch and kick,
but the texture is not ripped.
I experienced the pressure and thought this was all,
so I settled in the dark, yet still not and yet apart.

The struggle to belong became so burdensome you see,
I caved in and went away,
still blind, yet I thought I could see.
Too hard, too tough a walk for me.
It’ll never do, there’s only one who paid the price for me.
I know he’s there, the pressure told me so.
Then a consequence of conscience
collectively told me I was wrong.

Crumpled too, on my knees, face.
I surrendered at the veil
’til helpless thoughts, mind became clear.
My precious gift from faith sincere,
a light that I can truly see to guide my steps.
As I enter in beyond the veil
with eternal steps where hope is life, where right is real.
Perfect love in perfect truth,
I know at last, Jesus is His name.
