Poem – Not Finished
July 2, 2021Poem – Weeds in My Garden
July 2, 2021A traveling minstrel
beheld my eye.
She seemed to have
such beauty inside.
Playing stringed instrument
up and down scales,
her song was bird-like
which locked me in jail.
A new kind of music
that fuzzed up my mind,
and tingling everywhere,
couldn’t tell who’s to blame.
Enraptured was heart,
then it flowed to the brain,
wherein darkness
I surrendered all light,
choosing death over life
while told to fight.
Without resisting the devil,
he will not flee the dark,
as when nothing’s to ponder,
a dragon guards its treasure
’til brightness goes dim.
See out from this darkness
until silence be gold,
where unscratched
harmony with heaven
shall restore any soul.
