Insight: Help in a Lonely Place

Lord, I’m in a lonely place.
The desires of my heart unfulfilled,
but then I consider my ways
and I’m found content
as your Spirit flows over my soul.

In the middle of the storm,
I feel your peace
and it is only you who is carrying me.
I have no strength to go on.
I’d lay down and die
never to rise again
had your Spirit not lifted me.

I love my breath.
As I breathe, I know
you gave all of them to me.
Surged I am with the knowledge
of your grace.

God has not forsaken me
in my time of struggle.
I’m tossed back and forth,
up and down,
my peace is disrupted.
Help seems so far away.

I remembered my strength from above
and I’m helped by your comfort
as I leave my life the way I know it.
I see my future
and I know what life lays ahead.
An open door to eternity.
A pin tip of faith through the clouds
lights the way to bring me all the way in.
